Introducing Chaidim’s Limited Edition: Qing Xin Honey Black Tea
"A gentle sweetness from the highlands, crafted with care for true tea enthusiasts."
What is Qing Xin Honey Black Tea?
Qing Xin Honey Black Tea (青心蜜香紅茶) is a premium black tea crafted from the young leaves of the Qing Xin cultivar. The name Qing Xin in Chinese means “Green Heart,” referring to the light green hue of the tender tea buds. Originally prized in Taiwan for making oolong tea, when processed as a black tea, Qing Xin unveils a naturally sweet, honey-like aroma and a rich, smooth flavor that’s uniquely its own—born from a signature method of cultivation and processing.
Highlights of Qing Xin Honey Black Tea
The tea’s exceptional quality lies in the pesticide-free farming approach, which invites a small insect called the leafhopper to gently bite the tea leaves. In response, the plant releases natural compounds (such as monoterpene diol and hotrienol) that result in a honey-like aroma without any additives. These bites also trigger a chemical reaction in the leaves, curling the edges and increasing their natural sugar content. The leaves are then traditionally processed into black tea, resulting in a sweet, mellow cup free from bitterness—hence the name: Honey Black Tea.
Key Features:
-
Naturally Honeyed Aroma
Leaves are bitten by leafhoppers before harvest, causing the tea to release its own sweet aromatic compounds—no added flavoring. -
Floral & Fruity Notes
Offers delicate tones of wildflowers, jasmine, and subtle maltiness. -
High-Elevation Grown
Cultivated at altitudes above 1,000 meters, where cool, misty conditions enhance flavor depth and leaf tenderness. -
Single Seasonal Harvest
Handpicked during early summer (Summer Flush) 2025, with only 300 tons produced for this exclusive release.
A One-Time-Only Limited Release
Chaidim Qing Xin Honey Black Tea is produced in limited quantity from a high-mountain estate. This is a one-time harvest only per year, with no repeated production, ensuring the tea’s rarity and premium seasonal flavor.
Tasting Notes: The tea brews a crystal-clear amber-red liquor. Its leading aroma evokes wild honey, followed by warm notes of cinnamon, biscuit, malt, and dried fruit. The taste finishes with hints of cane sugar, a lingering aftertaste, and minimal astringency—remarkably smoother than most black teas.
Ideal for morning sipping or as a midday refreshment, this tea helps to balance the senses, promote alertness, and reduce fatigue. As a high-quality black tea, it contains natural antioxidants, supports cardiovascular health, enhances metabolism and weight control, and promotes calm mental clarity.
(Note: For best health benefits, enjoy in moderation and avoid adding excessive sugar or milk, which can diminish its natural properties.)
